Joining the Australia Thailand Association (Canberra)
The Australia Thailand Association (Canberra) Incorporated (the ATA) invites interested members of the community to apply for membership of the association. Membership provides a range of benefits. These benefits include opportunities to share social and cultural interchanges between Australians and Thais.
The ATA usually holds a number of functions throughout the year including talks on current Thai topics, family picnics and dinners such as the annual progressive dinner, the Autumn dinner, the mid-Winter dinner and the celebration of Loy Krathong in November. The annual tennis event provides a family sports atmosphere where players of all levels can join together to enjoy social tennis in a late spring/early summer event.
As part of the membership, ATA members will receive about five Newsletters with interesting articles with a Thai focus throughout the year.
The ATA's membership includes the Patrons, the Association's elected officials and committee members, life members, families, single people and business people with an interest in Australian-Thai social and cultural relationships.
If you are thinking of traveling to Thailand for a holiday or work, if you have an interest in Thai culture, food or studying the Thai language, of if you are married or are in a relationship with a Thai national, or have Thai children, then maybe you should consider joining the ATA.
The ATA membership process is simple. You can download a membership application form from this page, fill out the details and send the completed application along with the appropriate fees to the address on the form.
Currently the membership costs are :
- Family membership -$15 per year
- Single membership - $10 per year
- plus $5 joining fee- for new members.
Members can renew their ATA membership by using our online renewal process by clicking on the renewal form here and choosing the type of membership for which they wish to renew.
